5. Quotations & Estimates
- All quotations provided by Sonor Ltd are valid for 30 days from the date of issue, unless otherwise stated in writing
- A quotation is not a contractual offer. It becomes binding only when both parties have signed a project agreement or when a deposit has been paid and acknowledged in writing
- Quotations are based on the information available at the time of preparation. If the scope of work changes following a site survey or further consultation, the quotation may be revised
- Prices quoted are exclusive of VAT unless explicitly stated otherwise
- We reserve the right to adjust pricing if there are significant changes in the cost of materials or equipment between the date of quotation and the date of order
6. Services
Sonor Ltd provides smart home design, installation, and aftercare services including but not limited to home cinema, multiroom audio, smart lighting, home automation, CCTV and security, climate control, networking, and structured cabling.
- All installation work is subject to a separate project agreement, which will be provided before work commences
- A site survey is required before any installation can be quoted or scheduled. Site surveys are offered free of charge for residential projects within our standard service area (Cheshire and North Wales)
- We will carry out all work with reasonable skill and care, in accordance with industry standards and manufacturer guidelines
- Installation timelines provided are estimates. We will make every reasonable effort to meet agreed schedules but cannot guarantee completion dates where delays are caused by factors outside our control (including but not limited to other trades, material supply, weather, or client changes)
- Access to the property must be provided as agreed. Delays caused by restricted or withdrawn access may result in additional charges
7. Payment Terms
- A deposit is required to confirm a project booking. The deposit amount will be stated in your project agreement and is typically 30% of the total project value
- For larger projects, staged payments will be agreed in the project agreement, with payments linked to defined milestones (e.g. first fix completion, equipment delivery, commissioning)
- The final balance is due on completion of the installation and handover, unless otherwise agreed in writing
- Payment can be made by bank transfer (BACS). Payment details will be provided on your invoice
- Invoices are due within 14 days of the invoice date unless otherwise stated
- We reserve the right to charge interest on overdue payments at 4% above the Bank of England base rate, in accordance with the Late Payment of Commercial Debts (Interest) Act 1998
- Equipment and materials remain the property of Sonor Ltd until full payment has been received
8. Liability
- We will perform all work with reasonable care and skill in accordance with the Consumer Rights Act 2015
- Our liability for any claim arising from our services shall not exceed the total value of the project agreement for the work in question
- We are not liable for defects in third-party products beyond the manufacturer's warranty. Where equipment is covered by a manufacturer's warranty, we will assist you in making a warranty claim
- We are not liable for any loss or damage arising from misuse of installed equipment, unauthorised modifications, power surges, lightning strikes, or other events outside our control
- We shall not be liable for any indirect, consequential, or special losses, including but not limited to loss of profit, loss of data, or loss of opportunity
- Nothing in these terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any other liability that cannot be excluded by law
Force majeure
We shall not be liable for any failure or delay in performing our obligations where such failure or delay results from circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to natural disasters, pandemic, government action, supply chain disruption, strikes, or utility failures. In such cases, we will notify you as soon as reasonably practicable and will resume performance when the circumstances have ceased.
9. Cancellation
Distance contracts (online or phone orders)
If you enter into a contract with us at a distance (i.e. without face-to-face contact), you have the right to cancel within 14 days of the contract date under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013.
To cancel, please notify us in writing at projects@sonor.co.uk. If work has not yet commenced, your deposit will be refunded in full.
Bespoke and custom work
The 14-day cancellation right does not apply to goods or services that are made to your specification or are clearly personalised. This includes custom-built equipment racks, bespoke cable looms, and programming or configuration work that has been tailored to your specific requirements.
Cancellation after work has commenced
If you wish to cancel after work has begun, you will be liable for the cost of all work completed to date, materials ordered or delivered, and any reasonable costs incurred by us as a result of the cancellation. We will provide you with a clear breakdown of these costs.
10. Complaints
We take all complaints seriously and aim to resolve them quickly and fairly.
- Step 1: Contact us by email at projects@sonor.co.uk or by phone on 07933 684 000. Please provide your project reference, a description of the issue, and any supporting information
- Step 2: We will acknowledge your complaint within 3 working days and aim to provide a full response within 14 working days
- Step 3: If we are unable to resolve the complaint to your satisfaction through our internal process, you may refer the matter to an Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) provider or pursue the matter through the Small Claims Court
