Commercial CCTV & Security

Commercial CCTV & security for offices, units & venues

CCTV, access control, intercom and intruder systems for businesses across Chester, Cheshire, the Wirral and North Wales — designed, installed and supported by the same team, including sites with no broadband.

Security that is specified for the site, not sold from a catalogue.

Most commercial security enquiries we take start the same way: a new office fit-out with an electrician already on site, an industrial unit or yard that needs cameras but has no internet, or a business with two or three locations and three different apps. We design one system that answers the brief, cable it properly, and make sure you can see it from wherever you are.

We have been installing CCTV and access control alongside AV and networks since 2003. That matters on commercial jobs, because the cameras, the door controllers, the WiFi and the TV screens all share the same network — and when one company owns all of it, nothing falls between two contractors.

What we install

Commercial CCTV

4K and low-light IP cameras, number-plate recognition at gates, people and vehicle analytics, 30–90 day recording, and secure remote viewing on any device. Specified for the actual sightlines on your site.

Access control

Fob, card, PIN and phone credentials on every controlled door, time schedules for staff and cleaners, instant revocation, and a full audit trail. Scales from one front door to a multi-floor office.

Video intercom

Reception, trade entrances and gates answered from a desk, a phone or a wall panel — with the door released from the same screen and every call logged.

Intruder alarms

Graded intruder systems with app arming, zone-by-zone status, and monitoring or keyholder response where your insurer requires it. Integrated with the CCTV so an alarm event brings up the relevant camera.

Sites without broadband

Yards, compounds, farms and new units often have no fixed line. We install Starlink or 4G/5G with a business firewall (DrayTek or Ubiquiti) in front, so remote viewing works from day one without exposing the recorder to the internet.

Multi-site estates

Several locations, one app, one support contract. Consistent hardware across sites, central user management, and a single call when anything needs attention.

How we work on commercial jobs

Common questions

Can we view the cameras from our phones when we're off site?

Yes. Every system we install is set up for secure remote viewing on phone, tablet and desktop, with named user accounts so you control who sees what. Multi-site businesses get all their locations in one app.

Our yard has no broadband. Can you still give us CCTV with remote access?

Yes. We install Starlink or 4G/5G routers for sites without a fixed line, with a business-grade firewall in front so the cameras are never exposed directly to the internet. The recorder stays on site; only the secure app connection goes over the link.

We're fitting out a new office — when do you need to be involved?

Before first fix closes. Camera, door-controller and intercom cabling runs with the electrical first fix, so the earlier we're on the drawings the fewer surface-mounted compromises later. We coordinate directly with your electrician and main contractor.

Can access control replace keys for staff?

Yes — fob, card, PIN or phone-based credentials on every controlled door, with time schedules, instant revocation when someone leaves, and an audit trail of who opened which door and when. Visitors come through a video intercom to reception.

Do you offer a maintenance contract for commercial systems?

Yes. Our support plans cover scheduled health checks, firmware and recorder updates, camera cleaning and realignment, and a response SLA for faults. Annual contracts are available for single and multi-site estates.

Will the cameras work with our existing recorder?

Often, yes. We work with the main professional platforms (Hikvision, Dahua, Uniview, Ubiquiti UniFi Protect, Avigilon) and will tell you honestly whether it's better to extend what you have or replace an ageing recorder that's no longer getting security updates.

Send us the drawings

If you have a floor plan, a site plan or the electrician's first-fix drawing, send it over — projects@sonor.co.uk — and we'll come back with a marked-up camera and door layout and a budget before anyone visits site. Or call 07933 684 000 and we'll book a survey.
