Multiroom Audio

Whole-home multiroom audio for every room

We design and install multiroom audio systems that let you enjoy music in every room — each zone independent, or linked together in a whole-house party mode. Discreet speakers, seamless control, audiophile quality where you want it.

Music, wherever you are in your home.

A well-designed multiroom audio system means your music follows you — seamlessly, without fuss, without a tangle of wires or a shelf of black boxes. Each room can listen to something different, or the whole house can be linked in party mode at the touch of a button.

We install Sonos, Linn, Naim, and other leading brands — integrated with your streaming services, DAB radio, and existing music library.

Speaker options

In-Ceiling Speakers

Flush-mounted ceiling speakers that disappear into your décor. From discreet background music to genuinely impressive hi-fi sound, depending on specification.

In-Wall Speakers

For a more directional, focused listening experience — ideal for main listening areas, home offices, or rooms where ceiling placement isn't possible.

Invisible Speakers

Completely concealed behind plaster or plasterboard — you'll hear the music but see nothing at all. The ultimate in discreet audio for premium interiors.

High-End Hi-Fi

Dedicated listening setups from Linn, Naim, and other world-class manufacturers. Integrated into the wider system or as a standalone audiophile room.

Outdoor Audio

Weatherproof speakers for terraces, gardens and pool areas — the same seamless control as indoors, with party mode at the touch of a button.

Sources & Streaming

Spotify, Apple Music, Tidal, DAB radio, your iTunes library, even a turntable — all accessible from any room, from any device, at any time.

Integrated with Control

When integrated with Control, your audio becomes part of the wider smart home. A "Good Morning" scene starts your favourite playlist in the kitchen. "Movie Night" pauses the music. "Leaving Home" turns it all off. The system responds to your life rather than requiring you to manage it.

Sonos or a dedicated distributed system?

There are two excellent ways to put music in every room, and we design and install both — often together in the same home.

Sonos-style networked speakers are quick to install, work brilliantly in existing homes with no cabling, and are hard to beat for value and everyday ease. Each room has its own powered unit and the sound quality is very good indeed.

A centralised distributed system — amplifiers in a rack, cabled to passive in-ceiling or in-wall speakers — is what you'll find in most of our new-build and renovation projects. Nothing on show in the rooms, speakers chosen for each space rather than one-size-fits-all, genuinely high-fidelity where you want it, and it integrates cleanly with lighting and control. It needs cable runs, so it's easiest during a build or a decorating cycle.

Plenty of homes end up with a mix: distributed audio in the main living areas, Sonos in a bedroom or office added later. Both talk to the same control system, so the family never notices the difference.

Adding to or upgrading an existing system

Many homes already have the makings of a good system — ceiling speakers from a build, an amplifier in a cupboard, cabling in the walls. We're glad to build on it.

We identify what's installed, test the speaker runs, and commission everything properly — sources connected, streaming configured, TV audio routed through the room's speakers, and a network solid enough to stream on. Good existing equipment stays; where an upgrade would make a real difference we'll show you exactly why.

What actually makes it sound good

Speaker choice matters less than people think and placement matters more. A mid-range ceiling speaker positioned correctly for the room beats an expensive one fired into a corner. We plan speaker positions on the drawing — against seating, kitchen islands, ceiling obstructions and lighting — before anything is cut.

Beyond that: match the amplifier to the speakers and the room size, keep the network wired where it matters, and set up zones the way the house is actually used rather than one per room by default. Kitchen and dining as one zone with a shared volume; a bedroom that never wakes the house; a garden zone that's loud enough for a party and quiet enough for a Sunday morning. That's design, not kit.

Where we install

Multiroom audio across Chester, Cheshire, the Wirral, Trafford and North Wales — from single-zone upgrades to whole-home distributed systems in new builds. We're a Control4 authorised dealer and work daily with Sonos, Linn, Naim, Sonance and Monitor Audio.

Frequently asked questions

Can multiroom audio be added to an existing house without ripping walls open?

Yes. Networked speakers like Sonos need no cabling at all. For in-ceiling speakers we can often route cable through loft and floor voids with minimal disruption, and we time any cabling around decorating. We'll tell you honestly which rooms are easy and which aren't.

Can you commission or extend a system that's already in the house?

Yes, happily. We identify the equipment and wiring in place, test the speaker runs, then commission the system properly — sources, streaming, TV audio and network — or extend it into new rooms. Good existing kit stays.

Is Sonos good enough, or do we need a 'proper' hi-fi system?

For most rooms Sonos is excellent and we install it regularly. A dedicated distributed system with passive speakers gives higher fidelity, nothing visible in the rooms and tighter integration — usually the right choice for a main living space or a new build. Many homes sensibly use both.

Can the TV play through the ceiling speakers?

Yes — one of the most popular set-ups. TV audio routes to the room's speakers so you get proper sound without a soundbar on the wall, and the same speakers play music when the TV is off.

Will it work with Spotify, Apple Music and radio?

All the mainstream services, internet and DAB radio, your own library, and a turntable if you have one — accessible from any room from your phone, a keypad or a voice assistant, depending on how you like to control things.

Our builder or electrician has installed ceiling speakers and cabling — can you set the system up?

Yes, and it is a common request. We identify what has been installed and how it is wired, specify the amplification and sources to suit it, connect the TV and streaming services, configure the network and app, and commission each zone properly — level-matched, labelled and explained. Where the cabling is good, nothing needs to be redone.

Can you add music zones to a house that already has a smart home system?

Yes. New zones are added to existing Control4, Sonos or Lutron systems so they appear on the same keypads and app as everything else, using the cabling already in place or wireless speakers where there is none.
