Whole-home automation brings every system in your property — lighting, heating, audio, video, security, blinds, gates — under a single, intelligent control system. One interface. One experience. Your home, working for you.
Smart home automation is what happens when all the individual systems — lighting, audio, video, heating, security, gates, blinds — stop operating independently and start working as one. It's the difference between a collection of gadgets and a home that genuinely responds to how you live.
We design and install whole-home automation systems built around Control. Every installation is bespoke — designed around your property, your routines, and your preferences.
Independent temperature zones for every room. Integration with your boiler, underfloor heating, air conditioning, or MVHR — controlled intelligently based on occupancy, time, and your preferences.
Window treatments of any kind — voiles, rollers, blackout curtains — automated as part of your scenes or scheduled by the sun's position throughout the day.
Electric gates integrated into Control. Open from your phone before you arrive, link to your intercom, set access schedules, and monitor who enters and leaves.
See and speak to visitors from any touchscreen, TV or phone. Open the door remotely. Know when the kids arrive home. All integrated, all recorded.
"Good Morning" brings the blinds up, the heating on, and Radio 4 in the kitchen. One button press. We programme exactly what you want, how you want it.
Full access to your home from anywhere via the Control app. If anything ever needs attention, we can often diagnose and resolve issues remotely — before you've even noticed.
Both work well — they just work differently. In a new build or renovation with open walls, we pre-wire everything for a completely clean installation. In an existing property, we use wireless devices and careful cable routing. Either way, the end experience is the same: a home that works beautifully.
A well-designed smart home is invisible most of the time. Lights come on at the right level when you walk in at night. The heating knows the house is empty. One button before bed locks the doors, drops the blinds and turns everything off. You stop thinking about the technology, which is the whole point.
What it shouldn't be: a dozen apps, voice commands that work one time in three, or a system so complex only the person who installed it can operate it. Every home we hand over passes a simple test — everyone in the household, including guests, can use it without instruction.
Many of the homes we work in already have something worth building on: Rako or Lutron lighting from a previous project, an existing Control4 system, a heating system with its own app, a media room ready for the next step. Starting from scratch is rarely the right answer.
We review what's installed, upgrade what's worth upgrading and bring it all under one interface. Existing lighting systems can usually be recommissioned with proper scenes, and existing Control4 installations brought up to date and extended. If a system has lost its original installer, our system rescue service is the place to start.
We're a Control4 authorised dealer and it's the platform behind most of our whole-home systems, because it integrates thousands of products — Lutron and Rako lighting, Sonos, heating, blinds, gates, CCTV — and it's supported properly for the long term. We also work with Lutron, KNX and others where a project calls for it.
Start with one room or the whole house. Many clients begin with lighting or a media room and extend later — designed with that in mind from the outset, every later phase is a simple addition rather than a rebuild.
Whole-home automation across Chester, Cheshire, the Wirral, Trafford and North Wales — from new-build pre-wires to bringing order to homes that have grown a system piece by piece. See our home automation Cheshire and smart home installer pages for local detail.
A smart home is a collection of connected devices, often each with its own app. Home automation ties them together so they act as one system — scenes, schedules and a single interface — and that's what removes the daily friction.
Usually, yes. Rako, Lutron and existing Control4 systems can normally be recommissioned, upgraded and integrated rather than replaced. We review what's there first and only recommend replacing what genuinely holds the system back.
No. Many clients start with one area — lighting, or a media room — and extend later. Designing with that in mind from the start keeps the later phases simple.
We specify open, well-supported platforms and integrate the products that suit the house. Control4 in particular works with thousands of third-party devices, so choosing it doesn't tie every future purchase to one manufacturer.
You call us. Much can be diagnosed and fixed remotely before it becomes a problem; for the rest, the people who installed the system come back. Every handover includes training so the household can handle the everyday things themselves.
