Smart home design & cabling infrastructure

The cabling infrastructure is the foundation of everything a smart home does. We design every installation from the ground up — cable schedules, media plans, equipment schematics, and contractor coordination — so everything that follows works flawlessly.

The foundation of everything that follows.

A smart home is only as good as the infrastructure behind it. Cables can't easily be added after walls are plastered — and a poorly designed system is expensive to fix. We treat the design and cabling stage as seriously as the installation itself, because getting it right at the start is what allows everything else to work flawlessly for years to come.

We work directly with your architect, builder, and other contractors from the earliest stages — contributing expertise that shapes the project for the better and prevents costly mistakes later.

Our design process

Why cabling infrastructure matters

The internet is full of WiFi and Bluetooth "smart home" products that promise to work without any cabling — but they're fundamentally unreliable in a large property and don't integrate into a proper control system. If you want things to just work — from a single, elegant interface, first time, every time — a comprehensive cabling infrastructure is non-negotiable. We design it properly and install it to the highest standard before the walls close in.

Renovations & new builds

The ideal time to involve us is before the build begins. But we regularly work on projects at any stage — if the walls are open we pre-wire everything; if they're not, we find the best routes and containment solutions available without compromising the result.

Get the cabling right and everything else is easy

The cables in the walls decide what a home can do for the next twenty years. A properly designed pre-wire puts data, speaker, video, lighting-control and security cabling exactly where it's needed, terminated in a central rack, before the plasterboard goes on. It costs a fraction of retrofitting later and makes every subsequent system — network, audio, video, control — clean, reliable and upgradeable.

Design first, coordinated with your build team

We produce a cabling design and schedule from your plans: cable routes, outlet positions, rack location and containment, all coordinated with your architect, electrician and builder. First-fix is installed and tested before plastering; second-fix and commissioning follow when the house is ready. You get a documented, labelled installation and a home that's ready for whatever you choose to add.

Renovations get the same approach — we plan cabling around the works so walls are opened once.

Where we work

Design and cabling for new builds and renovations across Chester, Cheshire, the Wirral, Trafford and North Wales, alongside architects and builders.

Frequently asked questions

When should cabling be planned in a new build?

At design stage, before first-fix. That's when routes and outlet positions can be set without compromise and coordinated with the electrician.

What cabling does a smart home need?

Typically data to every TV and access-point position, speaker cable to audio zones, lighting-control and shading cabling, and security cabling — all back to a central rack. We produce a schedule specific to your house.

Do you work with our architect and electrician?

Yes — we provide drawings and schedules, attend site for first-fix coordination and test everything before plastering.

Can cabling be added during a renovation?

Yes. We plan cabling around the works so walls are opened once and the finish is undisturbed.

What do we get at handover?

A tested, labelled, documented installation with a rack ready for the systems to be commissioned — now or in the future.
