Smart home support & maintenance plans Cheshire, Wirral & North Wales

A smart home is a set of systems that need looking after — software updates, a healthy network, the occasional failed device. Our support plans keep Control4, Lutron, Rako, cinema, audio, CCTV and network systems current and reliable, with a team that knows your house and a response time you can plan around.

Why a plan rather than a call-out

Most faults in an integrated home are not dramatic failures; they are the slow drift of software versions, a network switch approaching the end of its life, a streaming service that changed its login, a battery keypad nobody noticed going flat. Left alone they add up until the house "doesn't work properly", and every one is cheaper and quicker to fix early. A support plan turns that into a routine: the software is kept current, the system tells us when something is wrong, and there is a planned visit each year to check everything the family uses every day. Ad hoc support remains available for homes that prefer it.

What every plan includes

Planned health-check visits

From one visit a year to quarterly on the higher tiers — network, control processor, lighting, audio-video, cameras and intercom checked room by room, with time to make the small changes you've been meaning to ask for.

Software & firmware updates

Control4, Lutron, Rako, Sonos, UniFi, projectors, AV receivers and cameras kept on current, tested versions — with a check that everything still behaves afterwards.

Remote support

Programming changes, new users and devices, troubleshooting — most issues are resolved remotely with your permission, without waiting for a visit.

Defined response times

Every tier states how quickly we respond to critical and standard faults, and how quickly we attend on site where needed — so you know what to expect before anything goes wrong.

Configuration backups

The controller programming and the network configuration backed up off site, so a failed device is replaced and restored rather than rebuilt from scratch.

Documentation

A plain-English record of what is installed, where it is and how it is connected — useful for insurance, for other trades working in the house, and if the property is ever sold.

Four tiers, sized to the home

Plans are priced on the size and complexity of the system after a survey, and can include intruder, fire and third-party CCTV maintenance so the whole property is on one schedule. We'll recommend the tier that fits rather than the biggest one.

Systems we support

Control4 (including homes bought with a system already installed and systems from other dealers), Lutron and Rako lighting, motorised shading, cinema rooms and projectors, multiroom audio and Sonos, UniFi networks, CCTV and intercom, and heating integration. Legacy systems such as Clipsal C-Bus are supported through our system rescue service before moving onto a plan.

Where the plans operate

On-site cover across Chester and Cheshire, the Wirral, Trafford and South Manchester, and North Wales from Deeside to Abersoch. Remote support and monitoring are location-independent for any system we look after.

Frequently asked questions

What does a smart home maintenance plan include?

Planned health-check visits each year, software and firmware updates across the control system, lighting, network and audio-video equipment, remote support with a defined response time, a backup of the controller and network configuration, and on the higher tiers proactive remote monitoring, out-of-hours cover, priority call-outs, parts discounts and loan equipment.

Can we take a support plan if Sonor didn't install the system?

Yes. We start with a survey and documentation visit so we know exactly what is installed, bring the software up to date, and then support the system on a plan from that point — Control4, Lutron, Rako, Sonos, UniFi, CCTV and cinema systems included.

What is proactive monitoring?

The controller and network report their status to us continuously, so an offline device, a failing switch or a dropped internet connection is flagged to our team — often fixed remotely before anyone in the house has noticed.

Do we need a plan, or can we just call when something goes wrong?

Ad hoc support is always available. A plan makes sense for homes that rely on the system every day: it keeps the software current so faults are rarer, gives you a guaranteed response time, and usually works out simpler than reactive call-outs over the life of the system.

Which areas do the plans cover?

On-site visits across Chester, Cheshire, the Wirral, Trafford and North Wales. Remote support and monitoring are location-independent for systems we look after.
